Maybe it's the M.E. in me, maybe it's that I'm cheap but ~$1100 for ~10 HP doesn't sound like a great deal to me.

As dbman said, it's more like we've all easily spent a couple hundred dollars for 10hp for exhausts, cams, etc.
Also you have to subtract the cost of the stuff you didn't buy (btc, map, etc), so it's not really 1100 dollars.

So does this mean that if we ordered a Hondata we could get the "Jim Helbing Burn"?
And similarly, can you save the map you came up with and e-mail it to others who have an emulator or stage 4?
Just curious.

Obscene amout of money is absolutely correct. I sure hope you plan to sell that burned chip to recoup some of the $1300.00 you spent to tune your car. Good God that is alot of money for tunning. Ouch! I hope you are now the proud owner of that hondata as I am unclear if you were just testing it out or if it is yours. Anyhow great job on your work and thanks for going out on a limb and reporting your results.

Exactly, I wasn't suggesting that you give it away or post it on the board.
I can't believe you did all that just to test it out and get a map, but I know future Hondata'ers will want your burn and, in turn, get their's from you.

Alex,
I have not worked out the details with Doug yet as to the system... maybe he will feel sorry for me and offer it on the cuff solely due to the amount of hard earned cash that I spent on the dyno... one can only hope.

My order line is open... call me.

Jim,
Did you run the OE FMU w/B&M to a port reading boost/vac. or just vac.?
